A Magnificent Ballroom Wedding from Jodi of Evoke DC

Julie and Zach’s Fall Wedding at the Willard in Washington D.C. incorporated many things they love. The vision for this Wedding was a Fall inspired enchanted forest, hinting at a midsummer night’s dream. The Willard Room was the perfect space for their Ceremony, creating a fall backdrop with the existing dark wood. The branch inspired chuppah, arch entrance and candlelit aisle created a romantic and intimate ceremony.

Their love for wine allowed us to create an interactive environment for the guests, with a wine sommelier and wine tasting during cocktails. The wine cork escort cards were designed around a large tree filled with suspended birdcages and fall flowers creating an exciting and focal entrance to the main dining room.

The ballroom had different looks to create interest through a variety of textures and shapes. Incorporating warmth, branches and fall foliage into each look was important. While some tables were filled with masses of James Storei orchids, beds of moss and candles, others were dressed with rich fall flowers, branches, iron chandeliers, trialing vines and ivy. The room was rich in lush flowers and dark burgundy, copper, deep gold, plum and burnt orange.

Savory bites, a fall inspired menu, their band Nightsong and an interactive dessert station and candy bar entertained the guests well into the night… and even as the celebration continued into the after party!
