This year, Pantone, Inc., named Marsala red the color of 2015, describing it as “naturally robust and earthy.” Personally, I’m a fan of this deeply romantic tone, and I can’t wait to see how this year unfolds as brides and designers pull together some of the most beautiful weddings featuring a truly royal color. So, in case you were wondering where to begin adding marsala to your own celebration, here’s a little inspiration to get you started.
Every Little Detail Matters
The thing I love about this year’s best color is that it does not discriminate among the seasons– it’s the perfect color for any time of the year. Bring your palette on the spring and summer side of life by adding hints of soft pink and plum with obvious touches of ivory. And voila! You have yourself one romantically elegant celebration.

The Sweetest Treats
When I tell you I’m a softy for beautiful floral-adorned wedding cakes, I seriously can’t take all the cuteness that follows. Consider, too, a sangria signature drink or miniature desserts to put your guests in a happy place without them even noticing that you color coordinated the entire shebang in marsala. How sneaky!

Gorgeous, Decadent Style
From the rich, deep reddish tones of lace to the most adorable wedding shoes ever, incorporating marsala in pieces of attire is a great way to avoid going over board. Dress your groom in a sexy marsala tuxedo or your best gal in an elegant gown to complement hints of floral design, and that’s really all you’ll need to make a remarkably lasting impression.
