From Melissa Musgrove:
I’m often asked what is my style of photography in regard to weddings. Am I a photojournalist, traditional, editorial, do I take candids?
The answer is yes to all of it. I believe a really good wedding photographer is someone that captures things as they happen naturally (candid), but also has the talent to anticipate (photojournalistic), and skill to direct and pose when the occasion calls for it (classic).
I love the beauty that surrounds a wedding. Who you are as a couple inspires me. Anticipating intimate moments. Capturing the love and emotions you share with each other, as well as documenting the celebration with your family and friends. I believe in being unobtrusive, and respectful. I will give direction when and where it’s needed in regard to portraiture, but will capture most of the day naturally as it reveals itself.
In addition, the light, the venue, the elements of design, all come together to create a unique experience. I look forward to being engaged with the art of your day. It’s an honor, responsibility, and a pleasure to be trusted with the memories of your wedding day. It gives me joy knowing that with each passing anniversary your photographs are a treasure that you will cherish.
I’m honored and delighted to be listed as a preferred photographer at the following Santa Barbara Venues: San Ysidro Ranch, Four Seasons Biltmore, El Encanto, Montecito Country Club, Fess Parker Doubletree Resort Hotel, Firestone Winery, and the Channel Cat.
