About AaB Creates:
Mayra and Xochitl started AaB Creates in 2003 believing life’s special moments should be celebrated with unforgettable style. Your celebration should feel like it could only have been hosted by or for you. Their job is to translate your personalities, taste and style into an experience that will live in the memory of everyone who attended- including you! Here’s a little about the creative minds behind AaB.
Xochitl (So-cheel) is the Chief of Making Things Pretty here at AaB. A Brown University alumna, Xochitl’s background is in Fine Art and Art History. She’s also an experienced stitcher, crafter and and re-purposer of old finds from Brimfield. With over 15 years of experience designing and producing events, Xochitl was the Director of Events and Marketing for The Clio Awards before launching Always a Bridesmaid (now AaB Creates) in 2003. Xochitl has been featured on The Style Network multiple times, is the Etiquette Expert for the Huffington Post and HuffPost Live and is frequently called on for speaking engagements. Xochitl is very active in the wedding blog-o-sphere, as editor of our own blog, Always a Blogsmaid and as a contributor for The Huffington Post Weddings and the Current wedding expert for About.com.
Mayra is the Chief of Making Things Happen. A Brown University graduate who majored in American History, and has a personal quest to visit every Presidential home. Though her early career involved non-profits, she eventually began working as an event producer for The Clio Awards. Though she might deny it, the original concept of Aa B originated from her brain. In the office, Mayra is a logistical and budgetary mastermind for all the wildest ideas born for our events. From scouting out the dream locale for the celebration to casting old lady librarians, Mayra is the mastermind behind all these flawless details that have helped make our clients events’ special. Additionally, Mayra oversees our extensive vendor network as well as new business development at A.a.B.
