Traditionally, the bridal shower is planned and paid for by the maid of honor and the bridesmaids, close friends or relatives, or whoever is hosting the bridal shower.
In many cases, parents of the bride will offer to contribute to the cost to help soften the financial burden for the bridal party (especially if the shower is held in a restaurant). Also, keep in mind that bridal shower guests should never be expected to pay for their meal.
So, if money is a factor, and the bridal party alone is paying for the shower, they might consider having it in someone’s home to keep expenses low. A brunch, pool party, or a barbecue are all fun, informal options that guests will appreciate and find enjoyable and relaxing.
