Do not verbally invite anyone to your wedding. Neighbors, coworkers and even some friends may change between your engagement and your actual wedding date. You don’t want to feel obligated to keep a promise after a late night out with coworkers are telling them “they are all invited!” Send out your save the dates six months before the wedding to only your absolutely A-List definite invitees and then invitations eight weeks before your wedding to ensure your guest list remains tight and right.
If you plan to have an A List and B List for invitations, mail out your invites even earlier. You will typically receive declines faster and you can turn around the B List invites quickly without being detected. You don’t want anyone to actually receive a late invitation and know they were on the B List all along.
